How Products Work on Fawran

#products#catalog#sku#draft#concepts
Products · Foundations

Listing on Fawran is “catalog-first”. Before you set your price you link your product to a shared catalog identity. Understanding that one idea makes everything else click.

Catalog identity vs your offer

Catalog identity
The shared description of a product — its title, images, brand and barcode. It’s owned by the platform and can be shared by many sellers. Think of it as the product’s “library card”.
Your offer (the product)
Your listing on top of that identity — your price, your stock, your fulfillment model. This is the thing you actually sell. One product = one offer.

When you add a product you first find or create the catalog identity, then build your offer on it.

Every product starts as a Draft

BuyableImmediately (MARKET/FBS) or after warehouse receipt and activation (FBF)
Important

A new product is a Draft and is not visible to buyers. It becomes buyable only after you add it to inventory and choose a fulfillment model. The product itself isn’t “approved/rejected” — that moderation applies to the catalog identity, not your offer.

Two things that surprise new sellers

TopicHow it really works on Fawran
SKUAuto-generated for you when you save — you don’t type one in.
VariantsThere is no size/color variant matrix. One product = one offer, one price, one stock line. Colors are a simple descriptive list; sizes aren’t collected at all. To sell several colors or sizes you create a separate product for each combination — see Selling Multiple Colors & Sizes.

Product status vs catalog status

Your offer has exactly three statuses: DRAFT, ACTIVE and INACTIVE. There is no product-level “pending approval”. Approval and moderation happen one layer up, on the catalog identity:

LayerStatusesWhat it means for you
Your productDRAFT · ACTIVE · INACTIVEYou control this by adding inventory and using Hide/Activate.
Catalog identityVERIFIED · CANDIDATE · MERGED · REJECTEDFawran moderates this. A candidate you created is buyable immediately and reviewed later.
BrandVERIFIED · UNVERIFIED · CANDIDATE · REJECTEDBrand verification is a separate request — see Brand Requests.
ℹ️Note

In your products list, anything that isn’t ACTIVE shows a single “Hidden” chip — including drafts. Hover the chip to see the reason; the product detail page shows the precise state.
