Seller Account Deletion
How a seller closes their Fawran Seller account: owner-only, settled balance, one-time-code confirmation, a three-month review and retention period, and what is then deleted, anonymised or kept.
1. Purpose and scope#
1.1 This page explains how a Seller closes their Fawran Seller account: who may request it, what has to be settled first, how the request is confirmed, what happens during the review and retention period, and what is deleted, anonymised or kept at the end of it.
1.2 It applies to the Fawran Seller platform — the Fawran Seller web application and the Fawran Seller mobile application. It does not apply to a Buyer account on the Fawran marketplace, which is governed by the Buyer legal suite.
1.3 It forms part of, and is incorporated into, the Seller Agreement, and operates together with the Payout Policy and the Seller Privacy Policy. Capitalised terms have the meaning given in the Seller Agreement.
2. Who may request deletion#
2.1 Only the account owner may request deletion. A Manager, a Staff member, an invited team member or any other non-owner role cannot start, confirm or cancel a deletion request. This is enforced on Fawran's servers, not only in the interface.
2.2 A deletion request applies to the whole Seller account, not to a single store. It covers the account and every store that account owns.
2.3 Stores the account only works in, and which somebody else owns, are not deleted. The departing account's access to them ends; the store itself continues to operate and belongs to its own owner.
2.4 A Seller who wants to close one store but keep the account should pause or close that store instead, and should contact Fawran Seller Support if they need help doing so.
3. What must be settled first#
3.1 A deletion request cannot be created while an amount is owed to Fawran. This includes any negative balance, unrecovered fees, commissions, chargebacks, refunds recoverable from the Seller, penalties and adjustments, as those are determined under the Payout Policy and the Commission & Fee Policies.
3.2 Where an amount is owed, Fawran refuses the request and tells the Seller that a balance is outstanding. The Seller settles the balance through the normal route and may then request deletion again.
3.3 Money Fawran owes the Seller is not affected by a deletion request and is not forfeited. A credit balance, a pending payout, a settlement or any other amount payable to the Seller continues to be governed by the Payout Policy exactly as it was before. Requesting deletion does not cancel, waive, reduce or offset it, and Fawran does not use a deletion request as an occasion to net amounts against each other.
3.4 The financial position is checked when the request is started, again when it is confirmed, and again before anything is deleted at the end of the retention period.
4. Confirming the request#
4.1 A deletion request must be confirmed with a one-time code sent to the account's registered email address. A valid session is not sufficient on its own.
4.2 The code is issued for account deletion specifically. A code issued for signing in, or for any other purpose, cannot be used to confirm a deletion.
4.3 The code is valid for a short period, may be used once, and the number of requests and attempts is limited.
4.4 If the Seller receives a deletion code they did not request, they should not enter it, should secure their email account, and should contact Fawran Seller Support immediately.
5. The three-month review and retention period#
5.1 Confirming a request does not delete anything immediately. The account enters a review and retention period of three (3) calendar months, running from the moment the request is confirmed. The exact end date is calculated by Fawran and is shown to the Seller.
5.2 The period exists so that audit, fraud, financial, dispute, regulatory and operational review remain possible, and so that a Seller who changes their mind can still do so.
5.3 During the period:
- selling stops — no new listings, no product changes, no new sales;
- the Seller keeps access to complete obligations that already exist: open orders, returns, refunds, disputes and support conversations;
- the Seller can see the state of the request and the date the period ends;
- the Seller can cancel the request (clause 6).
5.4 Fawran states plainly that during this period the Seller's data has not been deleted. Fawran does not describe an account as deleted while it is in retention.
6. Cancelling a request#
6.1 The account owner may cancel a deletion request at any time before the retention period ends and before final deletion has been carried out.
6.2 Cancellation is confirmed with its own one-time code, sent to the same registered email address, for the same reason the request itself was: so that neither ending nor keeping an account can be done from a session alone.
6.3 On cancellation the account returns to normal operation with full permissions restored.
6.4 Once final deletion has been carried out, the request cannot be cancelled and the account cannot be restored.
7. What happens at the end of the period#
7.1 When the three months have elapsed, Fawran re-checks every condition before acting. Final deletion does not proceed if:
- an amount is owed to Fawran;
- obligations to customers are still open, such as orders or returns that have not closed;
- a hold has been placed for a legal, regulatory, fraud, audit or dispute reason;
- Fawran cannot determine the Seller's financial position.
7.2 Where any of these applies, the request is paused, the reason is recorded, and finalisation resumes only once the blocker is cleared. Where the blocker is something the Seller can act on — an outstanding balance, or open orders — Fawran notifies the Seller.
7.3 Where every condition is met, Fawran deletes or anonymises the Seller's personal data as described in clause 8.
8. What is deleted, anonymised and retained#
8.1 Deleted. The authentication identity used to sign in; payout destination details, including encrypted bank account (IBAN) and CliQ alias records; verification and identity document records; and Seller notifications.
8.2 Anonymised. The Seller profile and the contact details of each owned store. The underlying records are not destroyed, because orders, invoices, shipments and accounting entries refer to them: removing them would leave historical records that no invoice, tax filing or dispute could be resolved against. Personal identifiers are replaced; the records remain as anonymised business records.
8.3 Retained. Records Fawran is required to keep are retained, in a form that is not used to identify the Seller commercially. These include: orders and order items; shipments and returns; financial and accounting records, including ledger entries, wallets, payouts, commissions and fees; tax records; support and dispute records; and the record of which versions of Fawran's Seller agreements and policies were accepted, and when.
8.4 Retention periods for the records in clause 8.3 are set by Jordanian accounting, tax and commercial law and by Fawran's obligations in any open dispute or investigation. Fawran retains those records for as long as those obligations require, and no longer.
8.5 The deletion request itself, and its record of what happened and when, are retained as part of Fawran's audit trail.
8.6 After final deletion, the Seller can no longer sign in with the account, and Fawran confirms completion by email.
9. How to request deletion#
9.1 In the Seller web application: sign in, then open Settings → Account & security → Delete account, read the consequences, request the confirmation code and enter it.
9.2 In the Fawran Seller mobile application: open Settings → Account → Delete account and follow the same steps.
9.3 The two routes are the same request handled by the same Fawran systems. A request started on one is visible on the other.
9.4 A Seller who cannot access either — for example because they have lost access to their registered email address — should contact Fawran Seller Support, which will verify their identity before acting.
10. Contact#
10.1 Questions about Seller account deletion, or a request that could not be completed in the applications, may be sent to Fawran Seller Support at admin@fawra.net, or raised as a support ticket from inside the Seller dashboard.
10.2 Data-protection questions about what Fawran holds and why are answered in the Seller Privacy Policy, published on the Fawran Seller website.
