Seller Code of Conduct
Standards of behaviour and integrity expected of every seller.
1. Purpose#
1.1 This Seller Code of Conduct ("Code") sets out the standards of integrity and behaviour required of every Seller on the Fawran marketplace ("Platform"). It forms part of, and is incorporated into, the Seller Agreement, and binds the Seller and its personnel and agents.
2. Scope and applicability#
2.1 This Code applies to all Sellers and all activity on the Platform, including listing, pricing, fulfilment, communications, reviews, and dealings with Buyers, Captains, Fawran, other sellers, and authorities. Capitalised terms have the meaning in the Seller Agreement.
3. Core principles#
3.1 Sellers shall act lawfully, honestly, and in good faith; deal fairly with Buyers; protect the safety and trust of the marketplace; and refrain from any conduct that deceives or harms Buyers, other participants, or the integrity of the Platform.
4. Integrity and fair dealing#
4.1 Sellers shall: (a) provide accurate, complete, and non-misleading information about themselves and their Items; (b) honour prices, offers, availability, and commitments shown to Buyers; (c) deal with Buyers professionally and resolve issues in good faith; (d) not misrepresent affiliation, endorsement, certification, origin, or product characteristics; and (e) compete fairly and not disparage or interfere with other sellers unlawfully.
5. Prohibited conduct#
5.1 Sellers shall not, and shall not attempt to or permit any third party to: (a) list or sell prohibited, restricted, unsafe, illegal, counterfeit, replica, stolen, or infringing Items, or Items they are not authorised to sell (see the Prohibited & Restricted Products Policy); (b) manipulate the Platform, including ratings, reviews, search rankings, "buy box"/featured placement, pricing, sales data, or metrics, whether by fake reviews, incentivised reviews that violate policy, review gating, self-purchasing, or coordinated activity; (c) divert Buyers off-Platform to evade Fees, policies, or Buyer protections, or solicit off-Platform transactions or payments for Platform-originated Orders; (d) include unauthorised marketing, contact details, links, or solicitations in Listings, packaging, communications, or inserts designed to circumvent the Platform; (e) misuse Buyer personal data, contact Buyers for unauthorised marketing, or breach data-protection obligations; (f) engage in price gouging or unfair pricing, including exploiting emergencies, contrary to applicable law; (g) create multiple or duplicate accounts to evade enforcement, limits, or suspension, or operate after suspension or termination; (h) provide false documentation, impersonate any person, or misuse another's identity, brand, or intellectual property; (i) interfere with, probe, or compromise the Platform's security or systems, or use bots or unauthorised automation; (j) abuse Fawran programs, promotions, coupons, returns, warranty, or fulfilment processes; or (k) engage in harassment, threats, discrimination, or abusive conduct toward Buyers, Captains, Fawran personnel, or other sellers.
6. Product safety and compliance#
6.1 Sellers shall ensure their Items are safe, lawful, and compliant with all applicable product-safety, labelling, regulatory, and import requirements, and shall promptly act on safety concerns, recalls, and Fawran's instructions, including by removing affected Items and notifying Fawran.
7. Authenticity and intellectual property#
7.1 Sellers shall sell only authentic Items and shall respect intellectual-property and brand rights. Counterfeiting, replicas, unauthorised use of trademarks or copyrighted content, and the sale of infringing Items are strictly prohibited and may result in immediate termination, withholding of funds, and referral to authorities and rights holders.
8. Communications and reviews#
8.1 Seller communications with Buyers must be relevant, professional, and limited to order-related and permitted purposes. Sellers shall not solicit, manipulate, or suppress reviews in violation of policy, offer prohibited incentives for reviews, or attempt to influence ratings improperly.
9. Anti-fraud, anti-bribery, and anti-money-laundering#
9.1 Sellers shall not engage in fraud, deception, bribery, corruption, sanctions violations, or money laundering, and shall comply with the Anti-Money Laundering and Counter-Terrorist Financing Law No. 46 of 2007 and applicable sanctions laws. Sellers shall cooperate with related verification and reporting.
10. Cooperation, investigations, and audits#
10.1 Sellers shall cooperate fully and promptly with Fawran's investigations, audits, information requests, and enforcement actions, including by providing sourcing, authenticity, safety, and compliance documentation, and shall not obstruct or mislead any investigation.
11. Enforcement#
11.1 Fawran may take action proportionate to the violation and the risk, including warnings, mandatory corrective action, content removal, ranking or visibility reduction, restriction or removal of models, features, or categories, withholding or reserving of funds, suspension, and termination, in accordance with the Seller Agreement. Serious violations—including counterfeiting, safety violations, fraud, and unlawful conduct—may result in immediate termination without prior notice, withholding of funds to cover liabilities, and referral to authorities.
11.2 Enforcement decisions may be appealed in accordance with the Seller Agreement. Protective measures may remain in place pending appeal.
12. Relationship to other documents#
12.1 This Code supplements the Seller Agreement and the other Seller Policies. In case of conflict, the order of precedence in the Seller Agreement applies. Nothing in this Code limits Buyers' rights under the Consumer Protection Law No. 7 of 2017 or the Seller's responsibility for its Items.
13. Amendments, electronic acceptance, governing law, and disputes#
13.1 This Code may be amended in accordance with the Seller Agreement. Acceptance is electronic and recorded under the Electronic Transactions Law No. 15 of 2015. This Code is governed by the laws of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, and disputes are resolved in accordance with the dispute-resolution provisions of the Seller Agreement.
