Ahmad wants Fawran’s warehouse to store and ship his Colombian Coffee Beans 250g (FBF). Enrolling a product in FBF is a two-part story: this example covers part one — the add-to-inventory wizard. Part two (physically shipping 20 units to the warehouse) is the next example.
Starting point
State: verified store, coffee product created (still DRAFT/Hidden without stock). Goal: an FBF inventory row for the coffee. Crucial concept: FBF quantity is warehouse-controlled — you never type an FBF quantity; it appears when the warehouse receives your shipment.

Step by step with Ahmad’s values
- Open Inventory & Warehouses›Inventory and click Add to Inventory.
- Choose from Product Catalog: select Colombian Coffee Beans 250g.
- Tick the FBF fulfillment checkbox. (MARKET and FBS have extra fields — quantity, your warehouse, package dimensions — FBF does not.)
- Set Product release date: Ahmad picks 2026-07-20, a few days after his planned warehouse delivery. The app warns explicitly that the release date must match when stock will really be at the warehouse — you bear responsibility for orders placed against stock that isn’t there.
- Note the wizard hint: no platform warehouse is chosen here — the destination warehouse is set later when creating the FBF shipment from Shipments›FBF Shipments.
- Click Save Data.
What you should see
A new inventory row appears for coffee × FBF with availability OUT_OF_STOCK and quantity locked (“FBF stock is managed by warehouse receiving”). After Ahmad submits his inbound shipment, the inbound column shows the expected units; after the warehouse receives, inspects, stores and activates them, Available becomes a real sellable number (ATP).
A common mistake on this journey
Looking for a quantity box and concluding the wizard is broken — or setting the release date to today while the stock is still weeks away. There is no FBF quantity field by design, and an early release date can put a live listing on sale with zero warehouse stock. Recovery: keep the release date at or after your realistic warehouse-arrival date; you can revisit the product’s release date from its offer settings before it goes live.
When to contact support
Contact support (category Shipping & Fulfillment) if the FBF row does not appear after saving, or if warehouse receiving completed days ago but Available still shows 0 (quote the product name and shipment number).
