Ads buy visibility. Product ads promote specific items and you pay per click; display ads are banners for brand awareness, paid per impression or as a fixed budget. You build both in the campaign wizard from Ads Manager → Create Campaign.
Product ad — step by step
- Campaign information — name it (internal only, not shown to buyers) and optionally set an objective (more sales / traffic / awareness). The target market is set automatically from your store.
- Select products — choose at least one eligible product to advertise.
- Targeting — add at least one keyword (each keyword has a minimum bid). Optionally add negative keywords and category targeting.
- Budget & bidding — set a daily budget (the campaign pauses when it’s hit). Optionally set a total budget (it ends permanently when reached). Choose
MANUAL_CPC(pay per click),CPM(pay per thousand impressions), orFIXED_BUDGET. - Schedule & review — set dates, review, and Launch.
The wizard only records the budget and bidding numbers you enter — there’s no card or payment step here. The financial details of this step are covered in a dedicated Finance guide coming soon.
Display ad — what’s different
Instead of selecting products you set up a banner: choose a placement (homepage banner, category banner, or subcategory banner), upload a banner image (PNG/JPEG/WebP, up to 5MB), and provide a landing page URL. Bidding is per impression or a fixed budget — AdType is PRODUCT or DISPLAY.
Campaign statuses
The full status model (CampaignStatus) is DRAFT, PENDING_REVIEW, ACTIVE, PAUSED, ENDED, REJECTED, BUDGET_EXHAUSTED.
In practice, every campaign you create through this wizard launches straight into ACTIVE the moment you click Launch — there is no seller-facing draft-save or waiting-for-review step today. DRAFT and PENDING_REVIEW exist in the data model but aren’t part of the creation flow you’ll see.
From the list and detail you can pause, resume, duplicate, end, edit or delete a campaign, and watch impressions, clicks, CTR, spend and ROAS.
After a campaign is created, its ad type and targeted products can’t be changed — “If you need substantial changes, please create a new campaign.” You can still adjust budget, bidding and objective.
Validation you’ll hit
| What you tried | Message you see |
|---|---|
| Launching a product ad with no products selected | يجب اختيار منتج واحد على الأقل (listing) |
| Launching a product ad with no keywords |
Manual-CPC (MANUAL_CPC) product ad with no bid amount |
| Category-banner display ad with no category picked |
| Subcategory-banner display ad with no subcategory picked |
Pausing a campaign that isn’t ACTIVE |
Resuming a BUDGET_EXHAUSTED campaign before raising the budget |
| Resuming after the schedule’s end date has already passed |
Common mistakes
Assuming Pause stops spend forever. A paused campaign can always be Resumed; if you want it gone for good, End it instead — ending is not reversible.
Clicking Resume on a BUDGET_EXHAUSTED campaign fails with
- The campaign’s remaining budget hit zero and the platform stopped it automatically.
- Open the campaign, edit the daily or total budget upward, save, then Resume again.
If the budget already looks sufficient and Resume still fails, open a support ticket (Ads & Promotions) with the campaign name.
Launching a product-ad campaign shows “N منتج لم يعد متاحاً. يرجى تعديل الحملة وإزالة المنتجات غير النشطة” instead of starting it.
- One or more targeted listings went inactive, out of stock is fine, but inactive or removed from the active catalog since you built the campaign.
- Edit the campaign, remove the flagged products from Select Products, and launch again.
Start with a modest daily budget and a tight keyword set, watch the click-through rate for a few days, then scale what works. Broad, unfocused keywords burn budget fast.
