Dispositioning Returned Stock

Returns · Inventory disposition

A refund closes the customer’s side of a return. The product itself still needs a decision: can it be sold again, or is it damaged? Fawran gives you two disposition workspaces, and the right one depends entirely on who is holding the goods.

Two workspaces, one question: who holds the goods?

Goods you hold — Seller Returns

Each case starts as Pending (RECEIVED_BY_SELLER) and you pick one outcome: Restock adds the quantity back to your sellable inventory in one atomic, double-restock-proof step; Mark as damaged and Reject return record the outcome without touching inventory. Full guide:

Goods Fawran holds — Warehouse Returns

The warehouse inspects each returned unit and grades it A/B/C (sellable) or D (unsellable). Once a case is Inspected and Pending decision, you choose what happens next. Today Dispose executes and Restock to FBF opens the restock wizard; the other decisions are visible but awaiting platform activation. Storage continues until the case is resolved. The financial details of this step are covered in a dedicated Finance guide coming soon. Full guide:

Choosing wisely

🚫Common Mistake

Restocking a clearly used or damaged item just to recover the unit. If it can’t be sold as new, mark it damaged (or dispose it at the warehouse) — reselling unsellable goods drives more returns and hurts your ratings.

Best Practice

Decide quickly on warehouse cases in “Pending decision”: the units are neither sellable nor free — storage keeps accruing until you act.
