MARKET Order Workflow: From New Order to Warehouse Receipt

#market#orders#captain#pickup#workflow#readiness
Orders · MARKET

In MARKET you store and pack; Fawran collects, preps and delivers. Your active part is short — approve, prepare, mark ready — and everything after is a read-only journey you can watch stage by stage.

Where to find it

Everything happens from Orders. The list gives you the quick buttons; the order detail page adds the Market Readiness card and the journey timeline. This is the readiness card as you’ll see it:

Step 1 — Approve the new order

A new MARKET item sits in New Orders under “Awaiting approval”. Click Approve and confirm — the item moves to PROCESSING. Approval only accepts the order; it does not call a captain yet.

Step 2 — Prepare, then mark ready

Pack the items securely. Then either click Ready for Dispatch on the list row (a confirm dialog follows), or Mark Ready for Dispatch on the readiness card. This is your ONE handover signal to Fawran — it sets the prep track to SELLER_READY_FOR_DISPATCH and puts the item in the “Ready — awaiting captain” bucket.

🚫Common Mistake

Marking ready before the parcel is packed. From this point Fawran may assign a captain at any moment — an unready parcel wastes the pickup.

What you’ll see during captain assignment and pickup

After you mark ready, the readiness card and the timeline advance through read-only stages written by Fawran’s systems:

Stage (prep track)What it means for you
CAPTAIN_ASSIGNMENT_PENDINGFawran is choosing a captain
CAPTAIN_ASSIGNED / CAPTAIN_ACCEPTEDA captain has the job — the card shows the captain chip as Assigned (with the name when available)
CAPTAIN_EN_ROUTE_TO_SELLER / CAPTAIN_ARRIVED_AT_SELLERThe captain is coming / at your address — have the parcel at hand
WAITING_HANDOVERPICKED_UP_FROM_SELLERHandover moment — after it, the Pickup chip flips to Picked up
IN_TRANSIT_TO_WAREHOUSEOn the way to the Fawran warehouse

Once the item is past your stage, the card says: “Already picked up or assigned — readiness is read-only from this point.” — from here you watch, you don’t act.

Handover — the captain scans, you don’t

At pickup the captain scans the shipment; at the warehouse gate it is scanned again. You never scan anything in the seller app. Your job at handover is physical: give the captain the right, sealed parcel.

Warehouse receipt and beyond

After WAREHOUSE_RECEIPT_CONFIRMATION_PENDING comes WAREHOUSE_RECEIVED_CONFIRMED — the Warehouse chip flips to Arrived and a “Warehouse Status” summary card may appear. Fawran then preps (PREPARINGREADY_FOR_SHIPPINGASSIGNED_TO_OUTBOUND) and delivers (DISPATCHEDDELIVERED). From your perspective the work ended at handover; the timeline is your window.

The shipment-barcode panel (awaiting activation)

The order detail page includes a shipment-barcode panel that is awaiting platform activation today. Its own notice reads: “Market shipment preparation and the shipment barcode will be enabled soon (awaiting Admin system activation). Prepare your products now; the “Ready for pickup” button will appear once enabled.” When live, it will own the ready step: a 4-point confirmation checklist (products packed · correct items and quantities · you will print and attach the label · pickup address/contact correct), then one shipment barcode, Print shipment label, and Reprint (with reason) which keeps the same barcode. Until then, use the readiness card’s button as described above.

If something goes wrong

The captain didn’t show up
What you see

The item stays in “Ready — awaiting captain”, and the readiness card shows no pickup progress.

Likely causes
  • Captain reassignment in progress on the platform side.
  • Pickup demand backlog in your area.
How to fix it
  1. Keep the parcel packed and ready — Fawran re-arranges the pickup; your ready signal stays valid.
  2. Do not cancel the order just to “reset” it — cancellation counts against your metrics.
  3. If nothing moves for an unusually long time, open a support ticket (Shipping & Fulfillment) with the order number.
When to contact support

Include the order number and how long the item has been marked ready.

Marking ready fails
What you see

A red banner: “Could not mark the item ready for dispatch” (or, in the shipment panel when active: “Could not mark the shipment ready for pickup”).

Likely causes
  • Connection problem.
  • The item was just taken over by the captain flow or cancelled in parallel.
How to fix it
  1. Refresh the page and check the item’s current status first.
  2. Retry once from the order detail page.
  3. If it persists, contact support with the order number.
No shipment linked to the order
What you see

“No Market shipment is linked to this order yet. Please contact support.”

Likely causes
  • The platform-side shipment record for this order hasn’t been created yet.
How to fix it
  1. You cannot fix this yourself — open a support ticket under Orders.
  2. Keep the goods prepared; processing continues normally once support links the shipment.
When to contact support

Quote the exact message and the order number.

You can cancel a MARKET item while it is still yours (new, processing, or marked ready before the captain side takes over) — see Cancelling an Order for the exact windows.

🧩Example

Order ORD-284551, 2 × Colombian Coffee Beans 250g. 10:05 you approve. 10:20 you pack and press Ready for Dispatch. 11:02 the card shows the captain assigned; 11:40 picked up; 12:15 the warehouse confirms receipt. Your part took 15 minutes.
