Promotions, Coupons and Credits Policy
How coupons, gift cards and wallet credit apply, and what happens to them on a return.
1. Purpose#
This policy explains how coupons, offers, gift cards and Wallet credit work, and what happens to them if you return something you bought with them.
2. Types of discount#
| Type | Who funds it | How it appears |
|---|---|---|
| Platform-level offer | Fawran | An announced discount on Items or categories |
| Seller offer | The Seller | A discount on that Seller's Items |
| Coupon | Fawran or the Seller | A code you enter at checkout |
2.1 Coupons take one of three forms:
- a percentage of the value of eligible Items;
- a fixed amount deducted from the value of eligible Items;
- free delivery, which removes the delivery fee.
3. Conditions for using a coupon#
3.1 Each coupon displays its own conditions, which may include:
| Condition | Example |
|---|---|
| Scope | All Items, selected Items, or selected categories |
| Period | A start date and an end date |
| Minimum order | Not applied below a stated amount |
| Number of uses | Once per account, or a limited total number |
| Calculation base | The value of eligible Items, of one Seller's Items, or of the Order |
3.2 One coupon applies per Order unless expressly stated otherwise.
3.3 A coupon is not applied retrospectively to an Order already placed. If you forgot to enter it, the answer is to cancel — where possible under the Cancellation Policy — and order again.
3.4 A coupon is not paid out in cash, transferred, or exchanged for credit.
3.5 Every coupon use is logged, which lets us detect misuse.
4. When a coupon may be rejected#
| Reason | What to do |
|---|---|
| It has expired | It cannot be extended |
| It does not apply to the Items in your cart | Check its published scope |
| You have not reached the minimum order | Add to your cart, or use another coupon |
| It has already been used on your account | Every coupon has a use limit |
| Your account is restricted for established abuse | See the Acceptable Use Policy |
5. ★ What happens to a discount when you return something#
5.1 The rule: a refund returns what you actually paid, not the Item's nominal value before the discount.
5.2 That is because the discount was never money you handed over; returning it to you would be giving you money you never paid.
5.3 Worked examples#
Example 1 — returning the whole Order: Two Items at JOD 40 and JOD 60, with a JOD 10 coupon on the Order. Paid = JOD 90. Returning the whole Order refunds JOD 90.
Example 2 — returning one Item from a discounted Order: The discount is apportioned across the Items in proportion to their value. The JOD 40 Item carried JOD 4 of the discount; the JOD 60 Item carried JOD 6. Returning the first Item refunds JOD 36 (40 − 4).
Example 3 — a return that drops the Order below the coupon minimum: If the coupon required a minimum order, and the return takes the value of what you kept below that minimum, the discount may fall away from the Items you kept and the refund is recalculated on the undiscounted price.
5.4 The final refund amount and its components are shown to you in the return details before it is executed, so no number comes as a surprise.
5.5 A spent coupon does not come back. If you return an Order on which you used a single-use coupon, the coupon is not reinstated. That is a commercial limit, and we state it plainly rather than hiding it.
5.6 Delivery fees: whether they are refunded is governed by the Refund Policy.
6. Bundled offers#
6.1 On offers of the “buy two, get the third free” kind:
- returning part of the Items may break the offer's condition, in which case the value of what you kept is recalculated at ordinary prices;
- returning all of them refunds everything you paid.
6.2 The effect of the return on the offer is shown in the return details before it is executed.
7. Gift cards and Wallet credit#
7.1 A gift card is redeemed by its code and its value is added to your Wallet, subject to the Wallet provisions in the Payment Policy.
7.2 Wallet credit is not paid out in cash, transferred to a bank account, or transferred to another user.
7.3 If you return an Item and a refund becomes due, it is paid to the destination set out in the Refund Policy.
8. Abuse of promotions#
8.1 Forms of abuse include: creating multiple accounts to repeat a single-use offer, exploiting an obvious software error, and buying for resale.
8.2 We may reverse a discount obtained that way, decline an Order, or restrict the account — graduated as set out in the Acceptable Use Policy.
8.3 None of that removes your right to a refund of what you actually paid for an Item you returned.
9. Changing or ending offers#
9.1 We may end or change an offer at any time for future Orders.
9.2 This does not affect an Order already accepted under that offer.
9.3 Article 8 of the Consumer Protection Law No. (7) of 2017 prohibits misleading advertising, including as to contract terms, the total price and the method of payment. We display each offer's conditions alongside it, not somewhere hard to reach.
10. Version history#
| Version | Date | What changed |
|---|---|---|
| 1.0 | 26 July 2026 | Initial publication. |
